Wanted: Mixed Animal Veterinarian – Ready to Switch Between Hooves and Paws Without Missing a Beat?
Are you a versatile veterinarian who enjoys both the excitement of a farm call and the satisfaction of a well-petted clinic cat? Do you thrive on variety, where your day might start with a goat leg fracture in need of surgery and end with a puppy’s first vaccines? If your answer is yes, then saddle up, because we’re looking for you!
Who We Are:
We’re a privately-owned mixed animal hospital (SOUTH-CENTRAL COLORADO) that takes pride in offering top-notch care to all creatures, great and small. Whether it’s a goat with attitude, a horse with a big personality, or a dog who thinks every visit should involve treats, our patients keep us on our toes – and we love every minute of it! We’re known for delivering high-quality medicine with a down-to-earth approach, all while maintaining a friendly, welcoming environment.
What We Offer:
- Variety That Keeps You on Your Toes: From farm calls with breathtaking views to clinic days filled with wagging tails, your days will be anything but predictable.
- Autonomy in Your Practice: We trust our vets to do what they do best – without micromanagement or rigid corporate guidelines.
- A Supportive and Laid-Back Team: We’re a close-knit crew that values teamwork, respect, and the occasional well-timed joke. Around here, collaboration and a sense of humor are as important as clinical skills.
- Work-Life Balance: We know you have a life outside of vet medicine, and we want to keep it that way. Enjoy a flexible schedule that lets you do what you love while still having time for yourself.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Providing compassionate, high-quality care to both small and large animals – whether it’s cows, horses, dogs, cats, or even the occasional backyard chicken.
- Building relationships with clients who trust us as partners in their animals’ care, from the farm to the living room.
- Balancing your time between the clinic and farm calls, with enough variety to keep every day fresh and interesting.
- Sharing in the joy (and sometimes the challenge) of treating multiple species, because you understand that each one brings its own unique quirks – and you’re up for it!
What We’re Looking For:
- A mixed animal veterinarian with a passion for diverse cases and the flexibility to switch between species like a pro.
- Strong communication skills – you can explain complex treatment plans just as easily to a farmer as you can to a first-time pet owner.
- A sense of humor and a positive attitude – we take our work seriously, but not ourselves.
- Someone who’s eager to join a practice that respects your expertise, values your input, and encourages you to grow.
Why You’ll Love It Here:
- Private Ownership, Personal Connection: We’re not about corporate quotas – we’re about quality care and meaningful relationships. Opportunity to buy in exists if you want it.
- Community Involvement: We’re a key part of this area, from farm families to local pet lovers. You’ll be making a real difference where it matters most.
- Room to Grow: Whether you’re looking to expand your skills, dive deeper into a particular area of interest, or eventually take on a leadership role, we’re here to support your goals.
Ready to embrace a role where no two days are the same, your expertise is truly valued, and you can enjoy a good laugh with a team that has your back?
Send your resume and cover letter (bonus points if you include your best vet-related pun) to [email protected].
Let’s work together to keep both farms and homes filled with healthy, happy animals – and have some fun while we’re at it!
